The Arizona White Mountains
Located in East Central Arizona The White Mountains or "Arizona High Country" has been a refuge from the summer's heat for over a century.
Phoenix, a large city of over 3 million with an International Airport is a 3 hour drive. There is also commuter plane and bus service from Show Low to Phoenix.
Most of the High Country lies at 5000 ft or higher and has mild 4 seasons climate. There is snow at the higher elevations in winter and the Sunrise Ski Center offers full winter sports opportunities.
Fall foliage is especially beautiful in the White Mountains
The White Mountains are also close to many of Arizona's Natural Wonders such as the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, many Indian Dwelling Ruins and Indian Reservations such as the Navaho and Hopi.
